With the development of the new Wellness curriculum underway, this presentation will be your first step towards understanding a Comprehensive School Health model to promote positive mental health and resililiency in your school community. As teachers, we know our students face a number of challenges that can impact their mental health and well-being, particularly adverse child experiences that result in anxiety and trauma. This presentation will focus on your role as a teacher in understanding trauma-informed approaches to teaching and providing a supportive, connected environment. Practical recommendations and resources will help you connect with youth that are struggling, and create a balanced class to promote positive mental health and resiliency.
