The Case for Compassion - Better Discipline Through Caring

"That's his 4th suspension this year! He's just not getting it!" If we continually go through the same disciplinary actions with a student and expect to eventually get a different result, there are at least 2 people behaving badly. In this session, participants will explore the reasons why compassion and understanding are necessary ingredients in any preventative discipline strategy. We will examine a brief overview of what the research indicates is effective, and then discuss strategies to make the right things happen in your school and classroom.
