"Huh?" Demystifying Psycho-Ed Reports and Making Solutions out of Them

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Feedback form is now closed.
Most of the time when a student becomes too challenging, our schools hire a psychologist to conduct a psycho-ed assessment (that can cost a fortune) because we think labelling our problems should help. A lot of the time, these reports may not meaningfully help us highly trained teachers or the most experienced of administrators. At the same time, psycho-educational assessment reports are a gold mine of information if that data is communicated in accessible language or if the recommendations are credible. For example, I was once told that my 16-year-old student with focusing challenges should put sponges in his ears--ya, right. This session would like to demystify the psycho-ed and offer a practical, solution-focused model moving forward. Let's make psycho-eds valuable in your school.
