The Robotics program at Archbishop Jordan High has been turning out regional and provincial champions at the VEX Robotics competitions for the past 5 years with students at the Grade 11/12 levels. This year, we have made the decision to start the VEX program at the Grade 9 and 10 levels for the first time, forgoing the LEGO NXT system. This session will introduce the VEX Robotics system and why we at ABJ decided that it is a better system for students at the high school level to learn and master. However, the challenge for both teachers and students alike is the implementation of the C++ programming language. So likewise, I will demonstrate how we can best prepare to learn and apply this language in the robotics environment.
