The Gut and the Brain: The importance of teaching nutrition to benefit mental health

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Feedback form is now closed.
The digestive system plays a significant role in mental health. The bacteria that live in the digestive tract and the nutrients we absorb help our brains to function well and produce the chemicals we need to feel our best. Nutrition can impact both the gut bacteria and the brain. An increasing number of adults and youth suffer from anxiety and/or depression. Optimizing nutrition can help reduce anxiety, improve mood and keep the brain functioning well. In this session we will also address behavioural and mindfulness tools that can impact the digestive system and the brain. You’ll leave this session with functional strategies that make sense in real life to reduce anxiety and improve depression. Feel vibrant, energized and happy and share the tools you’ve learned with your students to help them feel their best.
